Talkie AI Voice Call Review: Why Voice Continuity Wins

Talkie AI vs GoLove.ai: The Voice Call Head-to-Head

Talkie AI will happily call you as your favorite character. It just won't remember what you talked about five minutes ago.

That's the whole review in two sentences, but you're here for the receipts — so here's the scorecard on the six things that actually decide a voice-call pick.

Real talk — if you want a voice that remembers you, Talkie AI loses this on row two and never recovers. GoLove's roster is browsable right now without an account, so you can hear the difference in about ninety seconds instead of taking my word for it.

Why Talkie AI's Voice Calls Feel Scripted

Talkie Live is the headline feature. You tap a character, she "calls," and you get a real-time voice exchange with whatever persona that Talkie was built around. The tech works — that part I'll give them.

The problem is the persona lock. Talkie characters are community-authored cards with a fixed voice and a fixed personality definition, so the call runs on rails: she stays in character, delivers lines in that character's register, and doesn't really adapt to your tone. It reads like narration with your name dropped in. Emotionally responsive? Not particularly — more like a very good audiobook that occasionally asks a question.

Then there's moderation. Talkie AI is built for a mainstream app-store audience, so the voice content gets filtered exactly the way the text does. Anything flirty gets deflected mid-sentence — and a deflection in audio lands far harder than a deflection in text, because you hear the swerve.

Technically solid voice, structurally scripted conversation.

GoLove.ai: Voice That Remembers the Last Conversation

Here's the deciding factor nobody benchmarks — continuity.

Before: you spend twenty minutes on Talkie AI telling a character about your week, hang up, open a chat with the same character, and you're starting from zero. Two separate rooms, no door between them. Come back tomorrow, still zero.

After: GoLove.ai runs Memory as a core feature across the whole stack — Chat, Voice Calls (live real-time), Voice Messages and Relationship Progression all sit on the same character history. Mention something in text on Monday, call her Wednesday, and it's still there. The relationship state moves forward instead of resetting to the character card each session.

You can also tune how she talks to you before dialling. Chat Settings gives you a voice picker, a 5-level lust slider and a 5-level response length control — short and snappy at 1, rich and immersive at 5. Talkie hands you a fixed persona; GoLove hands you a dial.

If you want the longer breakdown, I covered this properly in whether AI girlfriends actually remember anything. But reading about continuity is worthless — try one call and see if she brings up what you said.

Beyond the Call: Photos and Video Talkie AI Won't Give You

Talkie AI is an audio-and-text product. Moderated audio and text, at that. A call ends and there's nothing left behind — no photo, no clip, nothing that makes the character feel like she exists outside the phone.

GoLove.ai treats the call as one surface out of several:

  1. Request Photos in Chat — ask mid-conversation and she sends; the request is part of the dialogue, not a separate generator tab.
  2. Generate Video from Photo — turn any photo she sent into a clip without leaving the thread.
  3. Video Actions in Chat via a Select Action modal — 76 realistic video modes for female/male characters (plus 20 anime, 35 trans, 16 anime-trans = 147 total), built from preset cards: action/pose + Clothes + Background, then one Generate tap.
  4. A per-character content library on every profile — All / Videos / Photos tabs with a one-tap Unlock All, running to hundreds of videos and thousands of photos on the top characters.

Same character, same memory, same voice — the media just accumulates. More on that in my six-app video test.

Straight up: a phone call with nothing attached to it is a demo, not a companion.

The Trade-Off You're Making With GoLove.ai

I'm not going to pretend this is a clean sweep.

Talkie AI's genuine advantage is catalog scale. It's a character-collecting app first — a huge library of community-built anime, fictional and celebrity-adjacent personas, discoverable in-app, with mainstream name recognition and a normal app-store presence you can install without thinking about it. Character.AI has the same edge for the same reason: millions of user-created characters, strictly SFW, and a free tier that's genuinely usable. If your actual want is "call the specific anime character I already love," those are the apps that have her.

Point GoLove.ai in one direction and you get a smaller roster: 300+ anime AI girlfriends, a realistic roster, a Trans category, plus Create and Design with AI if the exact character you want doesn't exist yet. It's an adult product, and nobody's pretending otherwise. That also means no App Store listing to browse casually.

So: breadth of famous personas, or a voice with memory and media behind it. You don't get both.

For a voice-call pick specifically, continuity beats catalog size — a bigger list of characters who forget you is still a list of characters who forget you.

What Talkie AI's Voice Calls Actually Cost

This is where most Talkie AI reviews go quiet, because working out the real number takes effort.

Talkie runs a dual model: Talkie Coins (a consumable in-app currency you buy in packs) plus a VIP membership tier. Voice calling draws on that structure rather than being flat-rate — so the cost of a call isn't a price, it's a burn rate. Long call, bigger bill. Nobody publishes a per-minute figure and I'm not inventing one, but understand what you're signing up for: a meter, not a subscription.

For contrast:

  • GoLove PRO — about $19.99/month, roughly $119.88/year (~$9.99/mo on the annual plan). Varies by region (as low as ~$12.99 in some geos) and by promo.
  • Stars — packs from about $9.99 to $179.99 for generation, plus 2 free stars daily just for showing up.
  • Anonymous entry — browse and start chatting before you pay anything.

Verdict: Talkie AI's Voice Call vs GoLove.ai

Score: Talkie AI 6/10 for voice calls. GoLove.ai 9/10.

Look, Talkie AI is fine — actually decent, even — if you're a casual, mainstream user who wants to collect characters and hear a familiar persona read lines at you. Huge catalog, easy install, no adult content to explain to anyone. For that user it's a solid app and I'd not talk you out of it.

But it's a hard pass if you want a relationship instead of a session. The voice is character-locked, filtered for a teen-safe audience, and forgets you between calls — and the coin meter means the more you use it, the more it costs.

GoLove.ai wins the head-to-head on the factors that decide this category: live voice calls that share memory with chat, a 5-level lust slider instead of a moderation wall, and photos and video that keep accumulating after you hang up. Same character, every surface.

The Design with AI builder means you don't have to settle for someone else's character card — describe her, and she exists in a minute.
